CBA’s masterplan will bring new life to Vake Park and strengthen Tbilisi's tourist offer, giving citizens and thriving park for the future

Vake Park is Tbilisi's most important historic public park. Established in 1946 to commemorate World War II and provide leisure facilities, this grand park has been at the heart of city life for over 60 years.  Its original formal Socialist Classical layout and detailing has however been eroded over the decades and it is in need of rejuvenation.

We were commissioned by Tbilisi Municipality City Hall to develop a masterplan for Vake Park to sensitively rehabilitate it; creating modern facilities while bringing its striking historic character back to the fore. Working closely with the local community we developed proposals to create year-round interest and a welcoming environment for all users. New fitness trails, play areas and leisure facilities are blended into the differing landscapes of the Park's zones, enabling a variety of uses to coexist without conflict. Our work will bring new life to Vake Park and strengthen Tbilisi's tourist offer, as well as giving the City's citizens a thriving park for the future.
