A New Village Community for Wilton Park
The vision for the new Wilton Park is to create a well-connected village set in a rural landscape with a welcoming new public park at its heart.
CBA is delighted to be supporting Inland Homes, a leading brownfield developer and housebuilder, in the masterplanning of a £350m new village community in the grounds of a former historic estate at Wilton Park in Beaconsfield, South Buckinghamshire.
The vision for the new Wilton Park is to create a well-connected village set in a rural landscape with a welcoming new public park at its heart. Working in collaboration with a team of consultants including Adam Urbanism, CBA helped shape the development of a distinctively landscape-led masterplan and design codes to guide the development of the new Wilton Park. The distinctive "informal English country estate" character of the village parkland is intended to create a strong sense of place for the new residential neighbourhoods. A new pedestrian and cycle route called the Wilton Way is proposed to take visitors and residents on a journey through a network of green spaces offering a range of opportunities for play, walking, running, cycling and relaxation.
The local planning authority's recent resolution to grant outline planning permission for the scheme will enable the delivery of 350 homes (79 of which will be 'affordable') as well as commercial and community space, a new two-hectare public park and an expanded nursery school. The development will also enable the A355 Beaconsfield relief road to be completed.
